A few days ago, 17 departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Education jointly issued the "Robot+" Application Action Implementation Plan (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan"), which opened a new journey for the development of the robot industry in 2023.
The Plan proposes that by 2025, the density of robots in the manufacturing industry will double compared with 2020, breaking through more than 100 innovative application schemes of robots, and promoting more than 200 typical application scenarios of robots.
In recent years, the density of robots in Chinese manufacturing industry has increased year by year, becoming the main driving force for the growth of global robot density. In 2020, the density of robots in Chinese manufacturing industry is 246 per 10000 workers, ranking ninth in the world; In 2021, the density of industrial robots in China has reached 322 per 10000 workers. The density of industrial robots will surpass that of the United States for the first time, ranking fifth in the world. According to the work objectives proposed in the Plan, it means that the density of robots in Chinese manufacturing industry will reach about 500/10000 people by 2025. The Plan also proposes to accelerate the expansion of robot applications and deepen the application of "robot+" in ten key areas, including manufacturing, agriculture, construction, energy, trade logistics, medical health, elderly care services, education, commercial community services, safety emergency and extreme environment applications. For example, the application in the field of manufacturing mainly includes the development of new robot products such as welding, assembly, spraying, handling, polishing, etc., the deep integration of robot control software and integrated application systems, the promotion of the construction of intelligent manufacturing demonstration plants, and the creation of typical application scenarios for industrial robots. For example, in the field of energy, we will focus on promoting the application of robots in wind farms, photovoltaic power stations, hydropower stations, nuclear power stations, oil and gas pipelines, hub substations, important converter stations, main power grids, important transmission channels and other energy infrastructure scenarios.
At present, Chinese industrial robot sales show a growing trend. It has become the largest consumer of industrial robots in the world for 9 consecutive years, and has remained the largest industrial robot market in the world. At present, the application fields of industrial robots in China have covered 60 major categories and 168 medium categories of industries such as automobile, electronics, metallurgy and light industry. In addition, the Plan also mentions that by 2025, Chinese service robot and special robot industries will have significantly improved the depth and breadth of application, and the ability of robots to promote high-quality economic and social development will be significantly enhanced.
Service robot is a semi-autonomous or fully autonomous robot that can provide maintenance, repair, cleaning, transportation, security, monitoring and other functions. In recent years, with the continuous expansion of service robot application scenarios, its application and investment value has gradually become prominent. According to the latest research report of Zheshang Securities, the global service robot sales are expected to reach 21.7 billion US dollars in 2022, with the annual growth rate reaching the peak in the past four years. Among them, Chinese service robot market size is 6.5 billion US dollars, accounting for more than a quarter. In addition, according to AIMedia Consulting, the scale of Chinese service robot market is expected to reach 95.92 billion yuan in 2023, which will surpass the scale of the industrial robot market and become the largest application field of Chinese robots. Special robots have also developed rapidly in recent years. They can replace people to carry out special operations in dangerous and complex environments such as earthquake, flood, extreme weather, mine disaster, fire and security. The "China Robot Industry Development Report" released at the 2022 World Robot Conference predicted that the market size of special robots would reach 2.2 billion US dollars in 2022. It is believed that with the continuous expansion of the application field of special robots, the future trend will continue to develop well.
It can be predicted that with the further expansion of the robot+application field, there will be more and more robot enterprises and robot products in different forms on the market, and Chinese robot market will also usher in new development opportunities. In addition, with the gradual implementation of the "robot+" application program, Chinese robot sector will also usher in a new golden investment period.
